Has anyone tried Viberzi? I have a few questions...

I was on it for 2 years. I started taking it once the Imodium lost it's effect. What I would say is that if you can still control things with the Imodium, keep on that route. I think of viberzi as kind of a last resort. I can say it did work wonders for me, no stomach pains and no more IBS-D symptoms. You aren't really supposed to drink, but if you have 1 or 2 here or there, it won't hurt (unless you don't have a gallbladder, then DO NOT drink).

It blocks the signals between your brain and intestines so my one problem is that I was always hungry and never got that full feeling. I ended up gaining about 20-30lbs on it. It's important to know that it doesn't solve the problem, it just makes the symptoms stop so I still felt kind of "sick" on it just all body-wise because I was still eating something my body wasn't agreeing with. To this day, I still haven't been able to figure it out and have been considering going back on it after stopping viberzi for about a year.

It is expensive since it's a brand-name only drug, but the manufacturer has a great assistance program where as long as you have a commercial insurance plan, you'll only pay about 30 for you first 9 (I think) fills.
