honestly i wouldn't say they're that big, even among psych rock fans, at least where i'm from (east coast of the US - relocated from Richmond, VA to NYC) like just look at youtube and instagram, they have significantly less followers than people like Lindsay Ellis and Contrapoints, both of whom are d-list celebrities by their own admission. its really hard to gauge these things though, because its very much a "all my friends voted for goldwater" thing. if i had to guess, i'd probably say they're definitely bigger than local/regional bands, and famous enough to get on Anthony Fantano's radar, but less famous than like, d-list actors and personalities. which tbh if i was them wouldn't be a problem, being famous sucks!
