anyone wanna talk?

What you said bro really resonated with me here.

To be a part of something greater than ourselves. My father told me many times over, when I was young, that he can't wait for the day that his sons become better than him - whether it be at chess or sports or anything really. I never really understand that until I became older and realized I was a very flawed man due in part to my own foolishness and the product of my upbringing - and wanted to have kids so I could do right by them. My father did the best he could given the circumstances, now he wants me to become better and do right by my eventual offspring.

Both my grandfathers passed away recently, neither was I really close to with in my adult years, which I regret deeply. However both of them insisted, above all else, to see or talk to myself and my brothers, and the rest of his kin, to see how and what we were doing in life. I think both my grandfathers wanted to know something before they died. I can't quite wrap my words around it but it is there.
