Anyone know which opiate is the strongest agonist of the mu receptor? Is it just whatever opiates are strongest typically are strongest at that receptor?

There are test studies being done right now using buprenorphine for treatment resistant depression, so you are right about opiates helping depression. It is the Mu receptor they are focusing on. Although you are right and it doesn’t seem like buprenorphine is the best option, it does effect the mu receptor and that’s why they are using it. Buprenorphine alone is actually too strong and has too much potential for abuse so they are adding another medication to it to dampen the euphoric high. I can’t remember if the med was called, something like kappa, or if it works on something in your brain called kappa, but you get the idea. If you’re like me and have been on a lot of full antagonist opiates suboxone itself doesn’t make us feel fantastic, but I remember when I didn’t have an opiate tolerance and I would get an awesome happy buzz from .5mg. Is you are trying to do it legally, maybe give subs a shot. At least they will be free and won’t put us in jail. Lol
