Has anyone's family tried to make them feel bad for going to college?

I find this odd. Your education is an investment in your future and if you are actively working towards succeeding in school and carving out a career path for yourself those who care about you should be happy for you, not bitter.

My cousin and her boyfriend (who didn't finish high school) told me that I am wasting my life with school and that a "real man" gets his hands dirty at work.

Also, what age are we living in lol? People that don't get their hands dirty at work are making the big bucks. Are lawyers, consultants, managers, professors, computer scientists, policy developers, analysts etc. not real men because they don't literally get their hands dirty at work?
