Has anything scary ever happened to you whilst exploring?

Why yeeezz one time when we got caught while hitting up a few roof tops in Atlanta. Doesn't match the creepiness of some of the stories here but being in the moment was pretty damn scary. Also found out through the incident that we were out taking pictures of the skyline on a very rare lunar occurrence dating back centuries. My apawlagies if it's too long but it's best told the way I wrote about it:

Basking in the moonshine, we HDR 360° panorama the shit out of Atlanta skyline…and of clawz, light one up till it glowed like the Pencil building as a reward to celebrate our successful trespass…that is until a figure emerges at the top of the ladder. With no possibility of escape except maybe a swan dive onto the concrete sidewalk, we flick the reward onto the roof below and sit still and silent in fear. Is it a guard? Have they even seen us? The shadowy figure gains a cap, half-sleeved black roundneck, cargo pants and a handgun on the hip. He walks closer, not looking at us once, staring straight at the moon…

You know you guys came here on a very rare night…”, he said, unfazed by our presence as though he was expecting us, “that up there in the sky today is the honey moon…”. DOC: “What’s a honey moon?” one of us purred pre-cautiously to prolong the conversation and our anonymous deaths. “The moon today is at it’s closest to the earth, so it appears yellow and much bigger than usual… And it’s full. But today is one of those rare days when it happens on Friday the 13th… And it isn’t going to happen again until 2098.” DOC: “Damn, we had no idea. We just came up here to take a few pictures.” “Yeah and it was supposed to be at it’s lowest around midnight, so about…” looking down at his wrist, “…half an hour ago, so yeah! You guys were here right on time, haha…”

We smile, a little mind-blown, a little confused, little scared, one of us a little soiled…

“This here is a great roof too. It’s at a great height and location to let you see all the way to Stone mountain there and on the opposite end you have an unobstructed view to Kennesaw mountain."

DOC: “So… do you work here?”

“Yeah I do, I do. I was just making my rounds. I come up here often. I didn’t mean to scare y’all! Just doing my job y’know..” he says pulling out a Newport, “… I love going to the top of the tallest buildings in every city I visit.” The murder suspect turned tour guide turned friendly guard starts speaking rapidly with excited hand gestures, “Cuz you come up here and you’re gonna see things in a way that’s so unique, and every city is different!”

DOC: “It’s an experience.”

“Yeah! The ultimate goal is to get on that right there”, he said pointing his unlit cigarette at the well lit BOA Plaza, the supposedly impenetrable priapic pencil thrusting into the sky.
