But does that mean the DNC approved a speech where AOC does not name Biden once and does not mention “party unity” during one of the most divisive election years in U.S. history? We live in a world where a message’s impact is measured by how quickly it can go viral. They should know by now that every word out of AOC’s mouth is plastered across every media page and social media network. The people the Democrats need to reach if they seriously hope to win are not watching the DNC live, they will be waking up tomorrow to see only this clip, taken completely out of context, on Facebook or Twitter. These people do not care about convention protocol. If the DNC truly thought having AOC give this speech without her mentioning Biden would be a good idea, they’re dumber than I thought.
