AOC getting the vaccine before the millions of at risk and essential workers is a slap is so selfish.

Respectfully, I disagree with that sentiment completely - I don't think it's selfish at all. I think it's actually a very smart move, and here's why:

A big problem here is that many Americans flat out don't want to get the vaccine, or they don't trust it. We know that herd immunity only works if a significant portion of the population is vaccinated. AOC's willingness to get the vaccine publicly on camera is public proof that she trusts it.

Whether you like her personally or not, she has very large social media influencer reach - the act of seeing someone else get a vaccine shot makes it seem Not So Bad.

Besides. I'm sure if she didn't get it on camera, conspiracy theorists would say "oh, she didn't get the vaccine".
