Apex Legends developers spark outrage after calling gamers “dicks”, “ass-hats”and “freeloaders”

The players are not frustrated that they have to pay $18 for the event skins, legendary skins are already this price in the store (which you have to buy $20 of coins to get). These event skins actually weren’t in the store when the event launched. The devs put them in the store after the community complained about the real reason they’re frustrated-

They’re PISSED that they hid these skins behind $7 loot crates that gave 1 item out of a 24 item pool. That means $7 x 24 crates = $154. They only give you 2 crates for free from challenges. The thing is, the event items aren’t actually even all skins. Some are music, some are poses for a specific legend’s banner, and then there are gun skins and character skins.

The reason the players were pissed was that this event initially forced people’s hand to pay $7 for a dice roll to get a skin they might want, as opposed to getting it directly from the store (which is why the entire sub exploded after the event released). As stated earlier, the skins were stated to now be released on the store during the second week of the event (next week).

As a casual player I just can not justify spending $7 on a box that might just give me 1 music modifier for my main menu and first 30 seconds of game. Or a pose for a character I don’t play.

The outrage was justified imo specifically because the price of these boxes was egregious.

Also a little extra tidbit to clarify-

I think 80% of the comments on the sub clarified that the fact they had to pay wasn’t the problem, it was because the price was too high. People were willing to spend money on the skins, just not a dice roll for the skins. No one ever figured it would be ‘free.’
