“Apolitical” sign for pro-abortion, ally, etc for classroom

I'm guessing you are probably a brand new or newish teacher. Overall, do not discuss the topic at all - it is 100% a political issue. You should read the Common Core health education standards and see in your state what the verbage is for each grade in terms of what is acceptable to discuss and what is not. Honestly, it's just not in the curriculum or district approved in most states.

Just as you wouldn't want a teacher telling your daughter abortion is bad, you also wouldn't want a teacher telling her it is good either. Just as you wouldn't want a teacher to tell a child republican propaganda, you wouldn't want a teacher also telling democrat propaganda. Just as you want separation of church from state, you also don't want to teach atheism either.

I'd just do posters of female scientists, engineers, and etc as a way of empowerment. (And include posters of famous American scientists, thinkers, inventors etc of all ethnicities, orientations, and genders) . Teach critical thinking, self empowerment, government, equal rights, etc and that's the best tools you can give them.

For High School, you can volunteer your classroom as a club for a pro-feminist group and give a space for that, but you cannot lead the group, create the group, or help in it's development.

If the other teachers want to risk their credentials by getting political, don't copy their behavior.

Sorry, but the best way to support the issue is to bring up adding it to the health curriculum through your department and union.

Also, you can't blame yourself if one of your students dies for any reason- be it mental health or whatever. You have to have a healthy separation.

Sorry for the truth.
