Apparently all the Dragonball Super screenings in Mexico were illegal

Seen this posted earlier and I couldnt word it any better so Here this is from user /u/Iamthelaw7 CYA: cover your ass. They are just trying to protect themselves from lawsuits, they don't want to be associated if something happens. If something were to arise, they would be a deep pocket that people would want to name as a defendant. They are basically saying don't hold us liable if something happens, we weren't involved in holding these events and we weren't the ones who approved them. It has nothing to do with them not appreciating these events or not liking them, they are just trying to protect themselves. This comes off as a disclaimer: don't hold us legally responsible for what goes down at these events. That's how I see it at least, I could be wrong.

And Toei will always try to protect their copyright and stop piracy. They have to as a business.

Edit: now I'm seeing online that they didn't have legal permission for the showing
