Yeah, it's kind of sad, this is just why I label myself "egalitarian" which, funny enough, there's a smear campaign out against us too. Although whenever someone in a first world western country says "I'm a feminist" though, I think, "Oh, so the word 'bossy' triggers you and you need a safe space from people who disagree with you?"

Honestly, I think the smear campaign against anything to do with fixing men's problems works because men don't want to appear weak or like bitter virgins. Oh, men commit suicide more often, get murdered more often, more likely to be homeless, die in the workplace, not be taken seriously when they're raped/abused, lose custody battles, etc.? "LOL male tears!"

This is where I think me being gay has a big advantage, no one can accuse me of being bitter about women not paying attention to me (gay privilege? lol). A lot of men won't speak out against women's bullshit sometimes because of the fear they'll be rejected by women, but in my case, I couldn't care less. Oh you're not going to sleep with me now? Thank god. It works on lesbians too, if a lesbian doesn't subscribe to first world feminist ideals, she faces being rejected by a lot of other lesbians too (hence why I think a lot of them subscribe to it).

This is why I think gay men have been getting accused of misogyny a lot, because we're not afraid to call women out on their bullshit, there's no lasting repercussions to it. I know a lot of times my straight guy friends will talk about the issues they face as men with me and my other guy friends, but if a girl starts ranting about feminism and their issues they shut up. A lot of gay men will say, "Um...okay, that's bullshit and here's why..." and so many of them are not used to a man calling them out so obviously it's because gay men hate women./s
