Apparently we needed a poll to know that WH Smith is the worst High Street shop.

Travel grows year on year (I don't know how, not my field), retail holds purely because every year they expect staff to do more work with less hours and so far we're managing it (Influx of new technology really helps). Books get hurt every year but different trends and clueless parents tend to keep them going, want to buy an adult colouring book? you'll probably want to look through it first . can't do that online.

People think its just amazon (And seem to delight in telling me that my jobs at risk and that my store which I love is doomed) but its not, it's supermarkets, they sell books at skin-of-your-teeth close cost to get people into store which is fine if you're also selling them a weekly shop and not paying taxes but doesn't work for a bookshop.
