Appealing admissions decision

If you got admitted to other four-year schools you should definitely look at those.

Trust me, I am aware that a significant minority of the people who apply have actually very unique circumstances/errors of the application. But, it's really just your application with a "Please!" in the end of it.

If you really believe that you fit in Cal, go for it. But you need to ask yourself why.

TL;DR I am a high school senior and I got denied from all of the UCs I applied to: Cal, UCLA, UCSD, and UCD. I did get the supplemental questionnaire from UCLA and UCSD. Unfortunately, during the duration of the supplemental questionnaire (end of January to mid February), my circumstances heightened like no other. I am just going to say that I have an alcoholic father and the police came to my house twice in that duration, on of the times being when UCLA's supplemental was due. I spent five minutes on it, five. The people I networked with did several drafts and worked with their respective teachers. I was disappointed and knew that I would get denied from all UCs, and I did. However, I will be attending San Jose State between the #1 and #2 graduate school for Statistics in the nation, Stanford and Cal, respectively. I moved on, other schools wanted me. No, they need me. If you get accepted into a four-year school, even if it is your safety, be damn glad that you got in because many people do not have access to it for whatever reason. To be fair, be happy that you are living right now. Children get cancer who probably did nothing to deserve it for example. UCLA gave me a supplemental questionnaire, and my academic stats were a 3.04 UC GPA and a 1460 SAT, incredible. I am grateful for that, but it's just not turned out the way I thought it was meant to be. All I know is that UCLA and UCSD considered my application to the next level, and I will definitely apply to those for graduate school. You have amazing stats, I am sure you will succeed at another school. Save Cal for grad school. Go be that hero and dominate the other school where you will make that institution better.

In summary, get over it.
