US appeals court lets Texas temporarily resume abortion law

If SCOTUS does that they lose all their power. The SCOTUS effectively gets it's power by being viewed as credible by the public, the 3 recent additions to the court and the allowance of this law ever going green had hurt the courts legitimacy beyond repair. If they rule this law blatantly constitutional it's very likely we see actions taken against the court, either in it's ability to provide oversight, to increasing the amount of seats on the court, to actually holding justices accountable for crimes. The quickest way to get the SCOTUS to be effectively destroyed and rebuilt would be for them to rule in favor of Texas, which would then cause other red states to attack Roe V Wade which would light a cultural fire that will, quite literally, light a new wave of political activists.

It would be the single dumbest move they could make. A large majority of Americans are for abortions, if the right ever "Wins" the fight on gutting Roe it won't be pretty for their elected officials who will then get booted.
