Apple has to muscle their way and force/fix the web.

Didn't you read my factual experience with their products? It's 2018. All of there "pushing the web forward" is English for "none of our platforms are first class citizens at the eyes of devs, so let's make the web our platform instead" and "let's bloat it and data mine it".

What they are doing with their DRM on the web is worse than what Apple did with iTunes DRM, but I don't see the same reaction. It's as if people have no clue of what Google is doing.

It's hilarious that you could mention their bad software (Chrome in general but specially on 2011 Macs), their "forcing Chrome" and abusing their monopolistic positions (go to their homepage with other browser. Some of their new services require Chrome. Youtube doesn't use up to date standards and will always load slower on other browsers. Pushing their own codecs. Pushing amp. Ignoring platform specific APIs and good practices. Etc.) and that wouldn't be relevant enough to mention in most discussions because of how terrible they are regarding data mining and everything that comes with it.

And still, I'm called an elitist because I think the end result of being mined while my Mac melts during a youtube video and a chat app built around chromium uses more RAM than windows isn't "pushing things forward" but instead being shit.
