They make it increasingly difficult to jailbreak your phone to install non-app store apps or modifications and they are gradually eliminating the possibility of repairing your phone without Apple's outrageous non-warranty repair rates while 'caring about the environment' by locking nearly every single possibly replaceable piece of hardware to the original device.)
