Application Help

I am a first-year graduate student majoring in academic librarianship. Not to brag about myself too much, but I am attending one of the top library science schools in the country. I chose this school because I lived two miles away from the school. The in-state tuition and fees cost $16k per year. However, I completely regretted it halfway into the semester.

Fortunately, I have recently been offered a graduate assistantship to work at the university libraries. It has taken the financial burden off my shoulders. More than half of the students in my program are paying out-of-state tuition ($33K per year.) Honestly, I have no idea how they are managing it.

I would say go ahead and apply to several schools. They may offer you assistantships and/or scholarships. But again, just to echo what others have said here, do not take out loans for library science school.
