Appreciate your history!

Cuz from what I have seem, besides buildings, the inuit made a lot of very practical utensils and clothing to survive in the artic climate, and from what I have seem they also build some tipes of stilted houses that seems very practical too

Practicality doesn't mean much to people when it isn't followed by something that amazes them. It's the opulence of places like Rome, China, Egypt, etc. that encaptures a whole lot of people. The gigantic construction projects, the power of their military, the influence of their goods, all that other stuff.

so I think using the whole idea of the "savages" and "civilized" people is very outdated

It is outdated by all accounts.

But I happen to like Conan the Barbarian a lot and it greatly influences my views on civilization and savagery.

Civilization is highly overrated and I would much prefer to be a headhunter with a cape of scalps, poles with impaled skulls outside my home, a couple decent whalebone warclubs (one with an antler spike) and a good dagger, catching salmon in my nets, having feasts with my family, paddle across the sound in a good canoe, tell stories to my nieces and nephews because I'd terrify people about as much as the shaman so I wouldn't have a wife, cross the mountains to visit and trade with cousins, throw potlatches because "Why Not?", and fight at least one fully grown bear to the death with a knife.

Ahhhh....the good ol' days.
