Archdiocese of Baltimore will offer ‘parish ID’ to immigrants and others who have trouble obtaining legal ID

Help those who help themselves. These people don't need help, they're looking for easier lives; there are plenty of people who need actual help in the country, including those who are already new and followed the laws of the land in order to be a citizen or a legal resident. As a naturalized citizen, nothing pisses me off more than feels-based excuses to give criminals a pass for breaking a law I and many otherd followed and now I look like an idiot when foreigners come uninvited and enjoy benefits they never earned; then, I get called "greedy" for wanting to keep the money I earned while it's "Christian" for Church Marxists to demand other people's money to fund programs foreigners think they are entitled to the moment they step inside the U.S. borders.

People don't prosper because of the magic dirt they step on, they prosper because they themselves and their neighbors change themselves and don't defraud and murder each other. When that happens, they wouldn't need to leave the county they were born in. No, what happens is that they come illegally because that's much easier than changing their own countries or standing in line with respect for laws; they can continue to behave in the same manner that ruined their countries but that's okay, we can all continue to believe the convenient narratives of "white privilege" without any need for agency or personal accountability.

There is a reason why resource-poor countries like Singapore and Switzerland prosper while resource-rich countries like South Africa and Venezuela are impoverished; all it takes is a population swap to see why, regardless of any victimization narratives people tell themselves.

When it comes to economics, the Church shouldn't excuse itself with WWJDisms and Bible verses: Catholics (Spaniards trying to deal with sudden influx of new American resources) were the first ones to create economic theories more sophisticated than "haves should give to have-nots so that everything is fair" for crying out loud.

But then we go to Reddit and it's "let them in u racist fascist because Bible and Jesus and the Pope said so; think of the children, etc." It's not going to result in anything productive.
