Yeah I identify with this a lot as a guy who likes to look nice sometimes. Exactly as you say just pop on a doc and a podcast and try on a different outfits until I'm settled. Because it helps me feel confident and it's fun. But in the past I've gotten so many comments like that and it irks me so much. I'd say the worst is when someone asks me in a surprised voice how many layers I'm wearing or why I'm "wearing so much" (not because it's warm) when I'm just wearing a mildly layered outfit like a button up under a sweater and then a jacket or something.
