i also thought silicone was fine but the coating seems to keep dust away and keep the toy clean. this seems great but it also seems to good to be true... the company is known for making those popular eggs for dudes and have recently started this line for females appearantly. i don't think they've ever had any issues but then again since this is a new line and this coating thing seems pretty new too i want to be sure. i haven't contacted them i just noticed it was black friday and was considering my options lol for reference this is the page https://www.lovehoney.com/product.cfm?p=35265&ReviewPage=1 silicone is under it so the rest of the toy seems ok it's just the coating
