Are Asperger's syndrome and ADHD recognized disabilities for the purposes of SSI?

You know what is really unfortunate is the attitude that SSA is just out to screw people over and we are all mindless drones.

I do not think they are out to screw people. I just think they are so full of apathy it has the same effect.

If there is a problem, it is up to the person affected to run around to try to fix it, because the people in the various agencies will not lift a finger. They will give out phone numbers and pass the buck, but none of them will take it upon themselves to help.

In other words, people who need help are the liaisons between the various agencies and departments.

Are there some crappy government workers, of course, but you can't lump us all in there.

I just did lump you all in there. When everybody does their job correctly, it results in the mindless bureaucracy we have now.

I am very good at my job

By what standard are you good?

I give people benefits who qualify based on the rules that I'm given.

How does this not prove my statements? What would you call people good at doing what they are told? I called them "drones" and "apathetic".

I can tell you that a lot of what you are spewing are common misconceptions about the program and about how our system works.

Are you saying a person who is unable to work because of disability can get help immediately from SSA? If not, then it is not a misconception that benefits take a long time to get when one is qualified and that the system does nothing to help those in need.

I had family help me substantially while I waited for my application to go through. Without that, where would I have been?

SSA does not care and it would be one less case to worry about.

But hey, you aren't going to believe what I tell you anyway, you just believe annecdotal evidence that others have told you or what you probably hear on AM radio.

Or what I personally experienced.
