Are companies closed today? The day *after* Christmas?

I'm going to repost this, from another response:

In most circumstances, I'd completely agree. But my business was not stuck in between them. Their insured hit my vehicle, and totaled it, in May.

They refused to cooperate, pulling every thing you could think of. Eventually I had to have the DOT step in and finally they said they would cut the check on Friday, to avoid exactly this scenario.

Forgive me if I'm less than concerned about the quality of the holiday, especially considering it's not a holiday.

I appreciate the response and sentiment, truly I do, but I'm not stating the people working shouldn't get to enjoy their holiday, but surely observing Christmas Eve twice(Once on Friday, for limited hours) and again on Tuesday, should be questioned a bit, no?
