Are corn allergies a thing? And can food allergies cause acne or dermatitis?

I've had perioral dermatitis, and when I cut out foods that introduced lots of hormones (ie. meats and dairy) as well as introduced probiotics, it completely went away. Alternatively I hear steroid cream works well, but depends on what kind of medicine you like to use. I find a combination of both natural and pharmaceutical works best for me.

There are lots of factors that can affect your gut health (which is where most research says POD originates), so I'd say try talking to a naturopath if you haven't yet. Naturopaths view everything the body as connected (ie. diet impacts gut health/inflammation) and often have exceptionally positive results.
