The main question is, is it worth leveling anything to 60 to get boosted professions...
The answer to that is no.
This may or may not be of any interest to you but here's my toon layout, in order of creation.
Mage - Raider - Main Enchanter, has been for many years, used to be tailor but now basic Alchemy to cut my flask usage in half. Also main Cook.
Priest - Ok Alt, Long time tailor, long time Alchemy.
Warlock - Good Alt - Main Jewelcrafter + 1/2 Main Engineer.
Rogue - Bad Alt - Herbalism + Mining It's about staying out of combat. When there's no flying the combat grapple hook is fucking great.
Hunter - Good Alt - Enchant (DE only, got to 600 skill from leylight shatter) + Engineering
Druid - Excellent Tank Alt - Leatherworking & Skinning, too lazy to dump skinning for something better.
Warrior - Good Tank Alt - Blacksmith for many years, 2/2 Main Engineer.
Pally - Reasonable Tank Alt - Enchant (DE only, got to 600 skill from leylight shatter) + Alchemy
Shaman - Main Healer - Main Alchemist & Scribe
DK - Bank Alt - Decent Tank Alt - Enchant (DE only, got to 600 skill from leylight shatter) + Engineering
DH - Good Tank Alt - Enchant (DE only, got to 600 skill from leylight shatter) + Engineering
Monk - LVL 5 - 2nd Bank Alt - Engineer.
You have a lot of character slots. Make a plan and get started.
Made the shaman when they came to Alliance, the DK & DH when they were first available, but the rest of them go back to before BC.
You want to put tailoring on a clothie, blacksmithing on a plate wearer, leatherworking on a leather wearer, sometimes shit is BOP.
