Are Democrats Insulting their Own Voters with Hillary Clinton?

It warms my heart to see self-identified Progressives who are willing to fully support Hillary Clinton. She's what I hope Republicans will evolve into. Hawkish on American exceptionalism, fighting genocide, and protecting Western access to oil and our modern way of life. Pro-trade and Pro-Walmart in its ability to expand the Indian and Chinese middle class while allowing companies to profit from cheap labor while busting profit killing unions that like to kill the golden goose. The wife of the architect of NAFTA and TPP's top saleswoman will probably see Keystone XL approval as a good thing that enriches Canadian and American blue collar workers, while reducing the brain damaged pollution that results from having to ship it by rail instead. Cheaper goods and energy inure to everyone's benefit everywhere, which means that even the poor in India and Africa can afford incredible smartphones.

Pro-Business and pro-Wall Street, where the next Apple, Google, Microsoft, or Tesla can avail themselves of investor dollars. Pro small business which means she won't unduly raise the minimum wage. On social issues she doesn't kowtow to the Christian Right, has no problems with gay marriage now that the center has shifted in its favor, and won't do stupid stuff like suppressing stem cell research. I think Citizens United is correct in that individuals who represent many others are making speech which is being suppressed by Congress and the FCC, but I wouldn't mind getting big money out of the political process. The Republican field is exceptionally underwhelming, and I believe by being a centrist Democrat, she is far more likely to promulgate the policies I find appealing with little to no resistance from Democrats.

Unlike Obama the Unready and former Prime Minister Pelosi, she actually understands health care and could work with Republicans to fix the brain damage. Hell, her original health care plan is where the Heritage Foundation was in the 90s. Best of all, another Clinton Presidency will marginalize liberals for another generation, same as the first. Mark my words, a Hillary Clinton Presidency will marginalize liberals and the Christian Right alike, make Obama look like an incompetent fool, and push the Democratic Party to where I wanted Republicans to be all along.

How was it that Ann Coulter put it? I'll campaign for Hillary if Mccain is the nominee

"If you are looking at substance rather than if there is an R or a D after his name, manifestly, if he's our candidate, then Hillary is going to be our girl, because she's more conservative than he is," Coulter said. "I think she would be stronger on the war on terrorism."

I think she'd make a great Republican candidate. A hawk on promoting American values and trade who will promote business with sane ideas on social issues? Sign me up. She's to the right of a lot of Republicans on a lot of issues, left on the social wedge issue idiocy I don't care about, and I'd take her over a JesusFreak any day of the week. Hillary's going to be our next President, and as a lifelong Republican, I don't see that as a bad thing at all.
