We are Edward Snowden, Laura Poitras and Glenn Greenwald from the Oscar-winning documentary CITIZENFOUR. AUAA.

Dear mister Snowden, dear mister Greenwald, dear miss Poitras,

the chances, that you are going to read my post are slim to none. I'll try it anyway. Before I ask my question I allow myself to tell you my very personal connection to your work.

On June 6th 2013, the day the first know interview was recorded, I started shooting my graduation film project, which talkes about the ambivalence the internet and modern technology brings to our lives every day. It's a 22 minute short film, portraying the at that time status quo and a possible vision of the immediate future. On June 23rd, two days before my graduation I was just finishing the final cut of my work while at the same time tracking mister Snowdens Moscow landing on flightradar24.com The first few weeks of your inspiring journey, are for me personaly extremely interconnected with that important time in my life. Somehow these leaks and your story became a passive companion during the creation of my work. I was one of the people that others did not take seriously when talking about these kinds of allegations. Both of you - at that time still not well known to the broughter audience - gave me certainty and hope in the possibility of things changing. Something that I was trying to do in a much smaller magnitude and by using my less powerfull craft. Thank you and also thanks to Laura Poitras for being an inspiration to so many people.

Mister Snowden, mister Greenwald and especially miss Poitras, do you think that fictional filmmaking or art in general can have as much an impact on real life for many people as documentary filmmaking or journalism, or is it by definition a rather self-serving medium without being able to fullfill real life goals?

(Although tempting I will not add any links to my film to not appear as simple selfpromoting here. In case any interest comes up I of course can provide said links.)

Dearly and sincerely: Thank you!
