Are estate agents needed once the offer has been accepted and solicitors instructed?

We're at the same stage. Have had to stay in touch with the estate agents as we've had some contractors in to look at bits that came up on the survey. They've been pretty shitty about this, insisting that all the contractors need to be at the property at the same time because 'the seller said so'. Which is bollocks because they keep forgetting that we actually know the seller (unfortunatly they're out of the country and because we've had to use the estate agent to get the keys to the property, they consider this an 'introduction' meaning the seller has to keep using them as part of the sale). After we viewed the property we spoke to the seller over the phone and negotiated a price, which we then put to the estate agent. They called back saying that the seller wanted more and they had to negotiate him down - absolute shitcunts.
