Are you ever satisfied with what you write?

I'm a native English speaker and my day job is a writer/editor and I make mistakes all the time in my own work. So give yourself some grace on that.

I also am a perfectionist and I don't even want to admit to how many times I edit my work. It's embarrassing. I edit to the last second and in my final reread or two after I've pushed "publish" but after that, I let it go.

The best thing I started doing that helps with the editing (which is usually recommended on this subreddit) is to use text-to-speech apps/software. I catch sooooo many basic errors on that and it's usually my 2nd to last edit.

Since my day job is writing related, I know that helps with my acceptance of publishing work that is less than perfect (to me), and honestly, that was something I had to learn over years. It's terrifying to put your work out there for the world, but the more you do it, the more comfortable you become with good enough.

So keep writing, keep publishing, you got this.
