Are you happier as a Digital Man, or when you were an Analog Kid?

Solidly analog childhood until college when the Mac came out. Early adopter of digital creative tools professionally, but feel totally ripped off by Adobe after sinking thousands in, and software became another planned obsolescence cycle as much as hardware. I still own my records and an old copy of Pagemaker in a box...Now spouse and I frequent the swap shop for free older gear, reinventing a cobbled together hi-lo tech household. Latest excitement was getting a free 1940s piano that only needs a tune. Can’t beat the resonance of sitka spruce, old tube amps, and vinyl, etc. Above all, digital did bring excitement for awhile, followed quickly by a time suck of years on screens that blew right by, growing anxiety and a feeling of always being behind. Now I’m intentionally going backwards to say fuck it to keeping up. I’m tired.
