Why are you here

I have not played the game for 4 months now, tho I regularly check the subreddits to see what changes are being implemented, looking to get back when I deem it is interesting enough.

So I'm looking at it from outside, not as part of the community, and I think your description is very wrong. Not completely, because I'm sure some people went through the cycle you're describing and just became addicted to the outrage, but that's not even remotely all of them. From my point of view, most of the people who complain care about the game. Some of their complaints should be ignored without reading, because they're pointless. Some of them are valid. Some I don't care about at all (anything related to PvP). And some are a matter of taste and should also be ignored because they cannot realistically pretend to speak on behalf of the whole playerbase when they talk about it (for example, I disagree with about 70% of complaints related to the story and dialogue).

But to me, all of their complaints sound like they're coming from people who play the game and want to shape it into something else because they're not really happy with it. It's not just jumping on the bandwagon or whatever, they are genuinely dissatisfied with their personal experience with the game, even tho I disagree with a lot of things they complain about.
