We are here for you

I notice this all over the air force, that people are trained to feel that they always need to be right. Instead of this culture resulting in people studying to gain as much knowledge as possible, the result is that people will make thing up when asked a question instead of telling the truth and stating they will need to return with the answer.

On the subject of this sub, in my opinion someone shouldn't be speaking on a subject in the newbie thread which they aren't an expert on. That thread is meant to be an information repository, not a place for Snuffy to dump bs pertaining to something they heard or for them to guess about empirical items.

I understand the frustration when people are answering the same question 100 times a week. I personally choose to ignore the question when it is something which can be found within the first result of a inputting the question into a search engine, others choose to downvote with the implication that you should copy and paste that into Google or look at the FAQ which hundreds of hours worth of effort have gone into.

In short, I acknowledge that this sub is somewhat an elitist echo chamber and that attitude is among the force in real life as well. You can choose to ignore snide comments or you can let it upset you and effect your life.
