Why are so many people disappearing in Idyllwild? Six people now confirmed missing in area

Nope. I just give up on law enforcement for the most part now. I honestly just feel like you have to be prepared to handle anything yourself, and you're not even safe if you're the one to call them for help because they think everyone is out to get them. Not making excuses for them but maybe they're probably underpaid, under appreciated, a tad lazy, and a bit afraid--pretty much like any other working stiff.

My last 3 "interactions" with cops were I waived a friendly hello to one--no response. I pointed out someone smashed through a barricade and debris was in the road on the next street over causing a hazard--he said (on a Sunday) for me to call the county because it was their barricade.

Last, got pulled over for brake like out in front of hospital I had just pulled out of after dropping my Mom off for treatment. I told him I check all my lights every day because I use my car for work so I knew that was not likely, and he saw I was in my uniform as I was on my way (and late) to work. I immediately realized I got her wheelchair handle snagged on something in the trunk when I dropped her off so I must have pulled the wire out, which happened before. I politely asked him if I could just pop the trunk and I wouldn't even stand near it and all he'd have to do was peek in and he'd likely see the wire out and it simply plugs right back in and we'd both be on our way. Nope. He took 15 minutes writing the ticket and ended up costing me the fee money I didn't have and a bunch of time and gas wasted going to the one station on other side of town to prove it was fixed. When I went there to prove it, I was the only one there and the cop that does the inspections sat there drinking coffee and chitchatting with the hot receptionist while I'm literally standing there waiting. Ok, maybe it's a mandatory break, whatever. When he's done, he comes to the window and says just pay the fee, he's not going out in the heat to look at a brake light, lol.
