Why are so many of you reluctant about new riders starting on 600cc and plus bikes?

I'm never going to buy a sportsbike. They're not my thing and people that ride them either. I respect them but I wouldn't hang out with a guy that rides a sportsbike, other than if he doesn't go twice the speed limit and if he doesn't break people's mirrors when he is triggered.

I know 3 hours sounds like nothing; and it is nothing. But where I live you must take classes in order to get your motorcycle license. You have approximately 6 hours of theory, then about 10 hours on a closed course practicing counter-steering and other essential motorcycle safety maneuvres and then about 16 hours on the road. Then you must do an exam to see if you're good enough to get on the road. If you pass the test you must be accompanied by a motorcyclist that has had his license for more than 2 years for 11 months. And the first day everybody got their motorcycles out this year where I live is april 9th. There is a lot of people out there with their learners license that wont be able to ride until they pass their road exam, which if they pass allows them to ride freely by themselves. I'm lucky to know someone that rides a motorcycle because as I said there are a lot of people that don't have the chance to practice on the road.
