We are a nation furious at injustice.

which he was within a much quicker time period than cops normally are

Do you think the riots had something to do with that? Compare it to Ahmaud Arbery's murderers and how long it took them to face any consequences when the case was able to be suppressed for months until a video was put online.

but to continue to justify it and act like issues that have lingered in this country for decades if not centuries are somehow just now making the roits acceptable is wrong and dangerous.

Well, what else is going to force change? You are right, blacks have faced oppression in this country for centuries, ever since they arrived to America. Things have gotten better but it always took the people forcing the government's hand and that usually came in the form of mass protests, some that occasionally got violent. If you want things to stop than call on your governors and local politicians to condemn police brutality and introduce legislation to hold police departments to higher standards. Go in and clean up all the cops with a long track record like the one who murdered Floyd. Frankly, people are tired of seeing this happen over and over again and they are especially tired when the most significant action taken is the murdering cop getting arrested, which in any rational world would be the absolute bare minimum but in America it takes a riot to achieve.

Not only does this drastically increase how bad the 2nd wave will be but all those people whos businesses, homes or jobs were wrecked by these people after having already barley been afloat because of the shutdown are absolutely fucked and for what?

And racist, oppressive policy prevents black businesses from even growing in the first place. They lock away entire populations into prisons and forces the remainders to live in ghettos where a perpetual cycle of poverty and crime ensures they can never advance in life. I'm sorry for the white family's farm that burned down during Sherman's march but I'm still thankful as fuck he accomplished his campaign.

taking the side of the cops since they will at least stop the destruction from getting out of hand which completely ruins the unity and push for stopping police brutality.

God bless the cops out there who are actually protecting lives and businesses but if by the end of this you side more with them than I doubt you were ever on the side of the protestors to begin with.
