Are NFL Owners Sending A Message By Not Signing Colin Kaepernick? |Undisputed|

Who should bear the consequences of Kaps actions?

This is not like your family's experience in Eastern Europe or blacklisting in Hollywood. where people were punished for holding a belief. Kap is not being punished. Kap decided to use his fame and media attention to promote a message. He did that during games where he turned the NFL into a platform. It is not just Kap that bears the consequences for his choices but also NFL teams. Take Miami's owner. Should Steven Ross absorb the financial consequences to his franchise for Kap wanting to protest?

It reminds me of one of my favorite jokes. The Governor visits a small, rural town and the mayor brags about how people there are the most generous people in the whole country. The Governor is a bit skeptical, so the Mayor offers to prove it to him. The Mayor asks a farmer who happens to be in town, "Say Bill if you had a Mercedes Benz would you give it to this man here?" Without hesitation, the farmer responds "Of course." The Governor lifts his eyebrow, so the mayor follows up, "What about if you had a vacation home by the beach, would you give it to him?" Quick as before, the farmer replies "Absolutely, especially if he needed it." The governor speaks up, "Can I ask a question?" to which the farmer nods. "Would you give me a cow?" The farmer says "Hell, no." The Mayor a bit shocked asks "Why not? You'd give him a Mercedes or a beach-front home." The farmer answers, "Well, I actually have a cow."
