Why are non-islanders losing their mind over the snow?

Watching your snowstorm and closures from Edmonton (where it’s -30s all week, snow a daily way of life for 6 months), but previously lived on the Island and out east. I was just saying how I’m jealous of and miss snow days. They just don’t happen here on the Prairies. Not because snow removal is decent here; it is a shit show too. Everybody just slaps on winter tires, murmurs to their deity of choice, goes about their business, and watches the insurance rates climb.

Would be nice to have permission to stay safe and warm inside except for a jaunt to the toboggan hill. I miss snow and frigid temps being an event rather than a way of life.
