Are we not dealing with abortion and pregnancy on the idea that prevention is better then the cure?

Abortion is not about prevention, unfortunately. In the state I live in they're trying to pass an anti-abortion bill that would outlaw plan B and IUD's, as they work by preventing an embryo from implanting, thus causing "abortion" when defining life as beginning at fertilization.

Besides, you will never completely be able to get rid of abortion even if everyone used protection, as the likelihood of birth control failing will never be 0 (unless your birth control method is abstinence or surgical modification of the body, but I believe telling people sex is only for procreation is unreasonable and absurd, and not everyone has access or resources for surgery).

As pro-choice however, I don't care what caused the pregnancy, whether it was irresponsible sex or a broken condom, I still think the woman deserves a choice over the medical decisions of her body.
