My sister is a hoarder. She wan't always this way, but she's always had a problem with mental illness and drug & alcohol addiction. I think it started with her not caring and ended up with actual hoarding. She got to a point where she refused to throw anything away, and she has a compulsive shopping habit. The last time I was in her home was to help her and her husband clean it up before moving to another house. He was no help, either. My sister allowed me to bag stuff up for donation and I had 11 huge bags of stuff (including clothes from the 70s, toys from when her adult kids were small) to take for donation and he husband refused to let me take them. He ended up taking everything out of the bags. I was so pissed. i had worked for 3 days in that place.

Soon after she divorced him but the hoarding and buying got worse. I have no idea how he lives.
