Are sound bar combos bad for a budget turntable operation?

Basically I finally decided to order a turntable for the records I’ve been collecting. Then I realized I didn’t have a receiver, preamp, or even a shelf to get going. I ended up deciding on a custom Uturn plus, to include a preamp, Que lever, and ortofon om5e cartridge totaling around $450, I found a shelf at target for $60 and walking around Costco i saw this Vizio soundbar, satellite speaker, and subwoofer combo for $150 normally $220. Decided to buy them and try it out with my phone through the line function trying to get an idea of what my turntable might sound like while wait for it to arrive. Figured I can always return it if it doesn’t work out. I live with family so Im usually listening at a respectable volume, and sitting right next to my turntable. The satellite speakers are small But I like the bass the little kicker provides to my chair at med-high levels. Over all I thought it might be better then the comparative Edifier R12’s I could afford right now. So far it sounds pretty good but am I doing this right, or rather myself and my records a disservice by trying to keep my costs low?
