Are you still considered fat if you move into the overweight category?

According to the heart foundation link http://www.heartfoundation.org.au/healthy-eating/Pages/bmi-calculator.aspx

BMI has a few categories. Obese is 30+ BMI Overweight is 25-30 BMI Normal weight is 18.5 - 25 and underweight is anything below that.

It can be helpful to consider it in terms of "fitness." whilst you attempt weight loss. Are you loosing clothing sizes? Are you committed to exercising 3 - 4 times a week? Do you get those sore muscle aches from your exercise? Are your muscles changing shape? Can you move faster - more things - heavier- faster times?

There are other factors other than BMI measurements. Have to measured your resting blood pulse? Is it hypertensive? Are you lowering that with exercise?

Ok - have you walked around after exercise and felt your face nice and flushed? Is the scalp at the back of your head nice and soggy from sweat? Do you have a pile of really smelly laundry at the end of the week and have worn sweat stain bits on your favorite clothing? If at a gym do you have at least 2 cans of anti-stink spray on hand and you ruefully accept the need for a towel? Do you have a favorite bag you use for your exercise clothes?

Finally do you accept that you don't do dumb eating things anymore. Don't consume fatty foods, no to fried take away stuff, and a big Hell No to coke and all other carbonated beverages which also mess with your pH levels and all sorts of things. Especially the diet coke stuff too. Drink water, coffee, tea, milk only. Start eating more vegetables and make your plate about 40% lightly boiled vegetables and ease back on fried food.

If your dead keen on weight loss - try the CSRIO diet. http://www.csiro.au/Outcomes/Health-and-Wellbeing/Prevention/Total-Wellbeing-Diet-online.aspx

That's the honest to truth - top notch actual accredited scientists the boffins at CSIRO have done an amazing job on this one.

To be honest I'm not perfect - I've still got some kilos to loose - but I'm well on my way.

Good luck every one. Remember what ever exercise you do - and how ever silly you look doing it you are burning more metabolic energy that some one that is at home not doing anything.
