Why are straight guys acting so gay among one another? And why can’t I be like that?

Completely agree. The only reason straight guys joke around in this way is because they all know it's just jokes and it's not actually gay. The humor is in the absurdity of it for them. And specifically because the humor comes from going up to the line and not crossing it, that's why we can't really participate in that with them, because the line isn't there for us so to speak. I have straight friends who know i'm gay and they're cool with it but i don't join in on the "acting gay" jokes because even though i know they're cool with me, i know (and i've tried it once or twice to try it on) that they don't really know how to react to me joining in on those type of jokes because well...

They know me, but at the end of the day, they don't have the same 100% certain guarantee that i'm just kidding like they do with each other. It's not really fair to the dynamic of the group friendship but that's just the reality of how straight and gay men interact. I use this comparison a lot, but it's very similar to how straight women feel safe changing clothes in front of a straight female best friend or a gay male best friend (because there's a line there the straight female/gay male friend has zero interest in crossing and there's a sense of safety/security/comfort in that for the girl) but would never do that with a straight male friend no matter long she's known him and trusts him.
