Are therapists paid to care? I'm a therapist and have a thought to share!

Ugh. Seeing a couple of therapists post/respond here is making me want to go to therapy less. And I already don't want to go to therapy.

But here's a answer that isn't all rainbows and puppies and empty promises.

Do you want your therapist to be homeless?

Do you. Want your therapist. To be homeless.

I mean, maybe you do. In which case you should probably forget professional therapists, and just start talking to actual homeless people. They're do despised and dehumanized that some of them will be thrilled to have someone actually talking to them and trying to connect with them... although they probably won't be very good therapists.

But if you want a therapist who has an office, or a computer and webcam, or however you get your therapy, and you want them to take daily showers and wear nice clothes and also have degrees and a career, you should probably pay your therapist.

If you pay your therapist, then they won't have to go find another job and work at that job instead of doing therapy for a living.

See? There ya go.
