Are there any famous cases in which the disappeared were in fact victims of sex/human trafficking?

It's extremely rare for white women with relatively stable lives to be kidnapped and sold into sex slavery. You are probably more likely to have lightning strike you. If you believe Reddit, there are hundreds of brothels south of the border filled to capacity with middle-class, middle-aged white women, forced into prostitution. It's laughable.

Of course it's an issue for women of color, and poor, young women with little family support, regardless of race. I'm not making light of sex trafficking, it's a serious problem.

I grew up in the Florida Panhandle, which is one of the "hubs" for human trafficking because at one point Panama City was the top place in America that runaways ended up.
