Are there any full-time traders here?

I trade FX full-time, as well as manage other investments.

Been trading FX since 2014. Before that I dealt with equities primarily.

Typical day for me is to get up at 6am my time. Then go to my home office, get everything loaded up to do some analysis. Analysis usually takes anywhere from 10-30min. After that I trade until about 4pm doing more analysis along the way. I take around 30-40 trades a day with just FX.

It's not a full day of just trading though. I'll make some breakfast, use the gym, make lunch, maybe go out for a bit, etc... There is a lot of downtime between trades though. I open my trades in batches so sometimes for like 2hrs I may not place a new trade. Then I take a break from trading for major news releases as well.

Some days I'll trade for like 3hrs, like where my profit is and just be done for the day. I do have a weekly profit goal(wouldn't recommend setting a goal when you're first starting out) I like to reach though so sometimes I'll trade through to reach that.

It is 100% boring, but that's a good thing. You don't want trading to have any emotion whatsoever. I usually have some video game, tv show, music, etc... going and it keeps me entertained.

And the loneliness can be cured by joining a chat-room of traders. The one I'm in is pretty casual and it's full the entire trading day.

The great thing about FX though is it's fairly easy to automate your trading strategy. So, if you don't want to sit around manually trading you can create an algo to do it for you. That's what I'm currently working on.

Overall, 10/10 best career in the world.
