Are there any Norwegians that would like to move to the United States. There’s always a constant flood of people in the United States wanting to move to Norway. Do any Norwegians want or considering moving to United States

There are plenty. Norway despite what most say is very homogeneous and conservative minded. Conservative in the way that being a foreign here is hard. We like our own and we like everything Norway related. We generally don't want things to change. Why would we? Everyone tells us and we are told from birth this place is a winning lottery ticket.

All this is in stark contrast to the American mindset of always wanting improvement and change. Sure a lot of Americans are always really conservative and narrow minded, but there is still a difference in mentally that cannot be overlooked.

As other has mentioned salary is a big reason for wanting to move. If you are an unskilled worker or you have a profession such as a teacher or mechanic or builder Norway will be perfect for you! We have had a labor government for decades and it really shows in daily/work life. You will be paid a liveable salary with a lot of vacation time.

However, if you are a highly skilled worker, chances are you will not be paid "fairly" in relation to your American counter part. Some of the skilled worker salaries are paid 1-4x the amount they are in Norway, with a lower CoL and a lower taxation level. This is a general trend for most of Europe however and Norway has a fairly decent tax rate compared to say Germany. Norway is still the second most expensive place to live in the world, so take any disposable income with a grain of salt.

Yes Norway has a lot of benefits, but you are paying at a premium for them. They are not "free" by any means as taxes will def take their fair share of your income and spending. Americans pay for all these too, sometimes at a higher premium wink wink Healthcare, but some of these expenses are more voluntary.

Overall people seeking a higher income or larger amount of individual freedom will be drawn to moving out from Norway and to the US, which I know several of. Those where income is not a big concern and they more value their hoobies, spare time and "relaxing" will be drawn to Norway.
