Are there any online "board" games? I don't things mean WoW or DOTA, but faithful board game reproductions that can be played remotely, against real people, at leisure?

Same here. TTS has made me buy more games than I ever would have in the past. For $40-80 a pop, I'm pretty happy playing the same game over and over. It's better than blowing $60 on a game you hate. Spending $80 on a game I know I love, I have played, and people I play with like, fucking right. I don't even have to think about that one.

There's no replacement for the real experience here. Boardgames and Virtual Tabletops are a very unique niche. Easy to access virtual experiences like TTS will do nothing but give a greater audience access to the genre.

Think logically for a second. Say in 2016 TTS kept doing what it's doing now and having tons of fan made games released on the platform for people to try and play. Thousands and thousands of games are being played concurrently on TTS 24/7.

What will this do to the Table Top Gaming world? It's not going to hurt it. But oh... look at that. All these thousands of players, that didn't exist before, now are here and they know your game and how to play, and they know $50 is a steal for the fun they will have and might as well grab those 3 expansions, people seem to really like those expansions. These are Players who've never stepped into a real game shop (my local one stinks) or even knew that real game shops existed and have managed to talk their wives, girflriends, neighbors, and coworkers into playing your game.

The point of board games is to play in person. You can't replace that. That's what they are. As the digital age grows, that will probably grow even stronger than ever as people start looking for things to do outside of their computers that don't cost an arm and a leg. Especially those of us who spend 8-16hrs a day looking at a screen.

Sure, if it got popular enough to where it was a truly mainstream thing, then the real licensing companies should be coming to the field to release expansions. But if they do that and don't allow the free or create free trial games (say core set or Netrunner or X-Wing), then you're right back where you started. If they fuck it up and try to suck money out of where there is no money, then it's going to do the opposite. Since board games need to not convince just 1 person, but 2 or 3 or even 8 freaking people, who all have to have at least some bit of fun for the night to be a good night..... these games need to be tested by multiple people. Maybe not everyone, but at least a few.

Board game companies out there reading this, don't take this from us. Treat this movement right, don't try to suck every penny out of it, and we'll be heading towards another table top revolution. Take your money from me on Amazon. I'm sitting at somewhere around $1000 on game related purchases and currently preparing to catch up to Netrunner ($100-400) since I bought TTS 8 months ago and I am not a hardcore gamer at all, but damn they are fun and I love game night.
