I can see how judging the action would put judgement on those who perform it. But personally I scrutinize my own decisions (diet, purchases) vs my ethics quite a bit, but I do not think about what my neighbours eat or buy, or whether they recycle. :P

I don't really think that a person is suddenly enlightened or "selfless" because they ultimately decided not to have a child.

Totally agree with this. You could say it about a # of different "enlightened" behaviours lol
