Are there still traffic wardens out in the West End?

Issuing PCN ≠ moving people (far more work) and I suspect a 98% reduction in the number of people on the streets => less other work for the police than usual. At least unless and until a general breakdown in law and order occurs (a visible presence to prevent which is one of the reasons there are police patrols in the first place)

It's the sort of task which would work very synergistically with giving out fines for people breaking self isolation.

There's pretty much no excuse in the current climate for council's seeking to boost revenues by having parking attendants out sticking little plastic parcels of potentially COVID transmitting death on people's windscreens. Plastic is litterally one of the worst material for keeping the virus alive on it for prolonged periods.

It's an unacceptable risk to parking attendants, those parking illegally (which whilst I wouldn't defend it ought not to be a potential death sentence for yourself or potentially others who you'll go on to infect), or via the combined societal effect of this - all of us.

Negligent breach of the council's duty of care towards us to allow this situation. The tiny amount of truly abhorrent parking which would be a problem (rather than the majority of illegal parking which is in the current climate without signifcant traffic on the roads is not really an issue - other than where viewed as a potential for profit generation by the council) could easily be picked up by the increased police presence on the streets...
